Steamtown Excursion
Ride the train, volunteer at the station, or simply come out and enjoy the day. The station will be open with live music, food, model trains, unique displays, classic cars, a walking tour of an Ice House, and much more! Also check out tables from Tobyhanna State Park and the Coolbaugh Township Historical Association. Buy your tickets to ride the train from Scranton here:

Steamtown Fall Foliage Excursion
Take in the autumn color of the Pocono Mountains by train. Board at Steamtown in Scranton and enjoy the breeze through the open window of the vintage passenger coaches. Not feeling the drive to Scranton? Come volunteer at the station and watch the train roll in and then leave! Either way, we have live music, the Ice House tour, and much more planned! See you there!

Trick or Treat at Tobyhanna Station
A yearly tradition continues with the classic hot chocolate pouring and the candy bowl ready! Join us for a fun evening, maybe even start your own family tradition by making a stop at the station!

Christmas Tree Lighting & Open House
Send off the 2026 season with a way to get into the holidays. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be ready when you arrive! Help us start the countdown as we turn the tree on at 6PM. Model trains, Christmas music, lights, and the endless flow of hot chocolate really brings the Holiday spirit to life here! This is our last day open to the public and we hope to see you there!

Christmas Tree Lighting & Open House

Christmas Tree Lighting
Come one down to the Tobyhanna Station for our 2nd annual Christmas tree lighting we will have hot coco and cookies available as well as all of our model train layouts running.
Halloween at Tobyhanna Station
Tobyhanna Station will be open for trick or treating on October 31st. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy refreshments and candy provided by the PRHS. Model trains will be running on the layouts for some great family fun.
Steamtown Fall Foliage Excursion
The train will depart Steamtown NHS at 11am. Once arrived at Tobyhanna, passengers can explore the Tobyhanna station with many artifacts and operating model train displays, participate in a walking tour to the Mill Pond #1 Ice House tour, classic cars, a walking tour of the town of Tobyhanna, and learn about the impact blueberries had on Tobyhanna by the Coolbaugh Township Historical Association. The train will return to Steamtown NHS around 4pm. Tickets can be purchased via Steamtown at Steamtown National Historic Site Tickets, Steamtown National Historic Site - Recreation.gov
Speeders
The NARCOA speeders will be making their run on the DL’s Pocono Main on Saturday, August 17th. They’ll be stopping at Tobyhanna Station on their way to turn around Slateford Yard. Follow the page for further updates and times. More info and speeder registration can be found here:
